The device can either be used to show how a time varying magnetic field can produce an electromotive force, or how a current in a wire can create a magnetic field and in turn interact with another magnetic field.。 Using the rotating magnet apparatus, the rotating magnet creates a time varying magnetic flux through the solenoid. The electromotive forced can be observed using a voltage meter connected to the solenoid. Alternatively, one can use the solenoid to create a magnetic field that interacts with the rotating magnet.。 Apparatus is mounted to a base measuring 7.75" wide and 4.75" long.
